Modernity or Slavery? The Ugly Truth About Women’s Freedom

Introduction:

We live in an era that is dazzled by the glitz of ‘development’ and ‘modernity’. However, recent global events (such as the Epstein list or the scandals involving Western elites) have removed our rose-tinted glasses. We now face a major question: Is the society that chants slogans of women’s ‘liberty’ actually secretly using women as the ultimate ‘commodity’?

Who are you following? We are astonished to see our youth considering that filthy and abominable Western social system as ‘modern civilization’. Who are we following? Who are we accepting as idols?

Consider those you view as symbols of success—whether Elon Musk, Bill Gates, or Donald Trump—when their names appear in the Epstein Files or recent scandals, do you ever pause to think what their true faces look like behind the curtain?

Those whom we consider heroes of technology or the most powerful people in the world, the darkness and ugliness of their personal lives are now open before the world. From the utmost disrespect and torture of women to child abuse—it is as if women are merely consumable products to them. They may have many things, but they lack one thing: a proper mindset. Blindly imitating them means pushing oneself toward that same darkness.

So, who is the Real Leader? A leader or idol should be someone whose personal life is transparent. Someone whose character could not be questioned even by his greatest enemies.

For us, the Real Leader is Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He accorded dignity to women at a time when they were buried alive in the sands of Arabia. Standing before a crowd of thousands during the Farewell Hajj, he declared: “Fear Allah regarding women.”

Today, as the masks of these so-called ‘modern’ heroes fall off, the ideal of that Great Leader from 1400 years ago shines as the only beacon of light. So, the decision is yours—will you follow people involved in scandals, or will you walk the path shown by the greatest human of all time, the true leader Muhammad (PBUH), and be inspired by his beautiful lifestyle?

Exploitation in the Name of Liberty: The Western world has taught us that women’s freedom means shortening her clothes and exposing herself to everyone. They say, “It’s my body, my right.” It sounds great, doesn’t it? And many women accept this with pride.

But looking deep into this so-called modern civilization, what do we see? Media, advertisements, cinema—women are being used everywhere merely to attract buyers. Why is a display of a woman’s body needed in a car advertisement? Because to them, a woman is not a ‘human being’; she is a ‘tool’ or ‘product’ used for business.

Recent events have proven that powerful individuals, who speak loudly about feminism, use women as consumer goods in their personal lives. Is this freedom? Or is it the slavery of the old ‘Ayyam al-Jahiliyyah’ (Age of Ignorance) wrapped in modern packaging?(My report in this article is based on the Epstein Files.)

Islam: women Not a Showroom Product, but a Jewel in a Vault

Let us look toward the religion of peace. The honor Islam has given to women is not a slogan, but a reality.

  • Islam calls women ‘Mohsana’ or protected like a fortress.

  • As a Mother, Paradise lies at her feet.

  • As a Wife, she is her husband’s shelter of peace.

  • As a Daughter, she is the key to entering Paradise.

Islam does not allow women to become products. Islam prevents women from becoming ‘Public Property’. Islam says your honor is not in your external beauty, but in your Taqwa (God-consciousness) and personality. Islam ensures that no one views you merely as a ‘body’, but respects you as a ‘human being’.

What does Islam say about women staying home? Let’s clarify briefly.

Many ask, “Does Purdah (the veil) hold women back?” Let me give a simple example. Islam has not barred women from working; rather, it has instructed them to work with protection and dignity.

  • Medical Treatment (Doctor): This is not just a job for women, but can be a Fard al-Kifayah (communal obligation). Because, for a female patient, a female doctor is the most comfortable and helpful for maintaining modesty. Does wearing a veil cause problems in this work? The answer is no; rather, it can be done even better with the highest honor and protection while serving humanity.

  • Police or Army: If female police or security personnel are needed for the country’s needs or to check/search women, this is also a highly honorable profession. The main condition here is modesty in dress and the workplace environment.

Sports and Commercialization (Sports as Business):

  • Exercise vs. Exhibition: Physical fitness or exercise is essential for both men and women in Islam. However, the modern international sports industry is largely dependent on ‘business’ and ‘showbiz’.

  • Modesty: In high-level sports, one often has to wear clothing that goes against Islamic modesty. Furthermore, presenting oneself before thousands of men in a stadium does not align with a woman’s dignity in the eyes of Islam.

  • Backward or Forward? Sacrificing one’s modesty or veil in the name of so-called modernity is not “moving forward”. Rather, maintaining one’s religious values and honor by withdrawing oneself from exploitation is the sign of true intelligence.

Let me give an example: Smoking is the act of a bad boy or someone with a ‘lower mindset’, yet most boys think it makes them look smart. However, a truly intelligent, smart, and decent boy does not think this way.

Another simple analogy: If you buy a diamond worth 10 million, would you leave it on the street corner or keep it covered with great care in a locker or safe? Surely, you would keep it covered. Why? Because it is expensive. On the other hand, people step on roadside pebbles because they have no value.

Allah has created women as valuable gems. The rule of Purdah is not to imprison women, but to protect them from lustful gazes, eve-teasing, and exploitation. Hijab tells the world: “I am not for everyone to see, I am special.” It is a kind of ‘Power’ that gives a woman control over who sees her and who does not.

In Summary: In Islam, men and women complement each other. But as a ‘Mother’, ‘Daughter’, and ‘Wife’, the sheet of security and honor that Islam has wrapped around women is unique.

Time to Understand Reality

Today’s young generation needs to understand: are those who show you the dream of being a ‘model’ truly your well-wishers? Or will they use you and throw you away at the end of the day?

Western culture taught women to ‘display’ themselves, while Islam taught women to ‘preserve’ themselves. On one side is temporary glitter, and on the other is permanent honor and security. The decision is yours.

Conclusion: A woman’s dignity does not lie in any specific ‘Day’ or social media hashtag. A woman’s true dignity and protection lie within the provisions given by her Creator, because He who created undoubtedly knows best and would ask to follow that. Let us not chase the mirage of so-called modernity; instead, let us give our mothers and sisters the honor that Islam has bestowed upon them. Not only that, Islam instructs us to treat everyone with the highest respect and good behavior, whether they belong to our religion or another faith.

Remember, a woman is not a product; she is an Amanah (a trust).
